We are back with part 5 of our 8 part series on small things we can do in our regular lives to make a big difference in the environment.
We are going to take a look at plastic bags. We know that we should use the fabric bags but if you are like me you are always forgetting them. Some think it’s not a big deal, but Canadians us over 9 Billion bags per year, enough to circle the globe 55 times if they were tied together. That’s a lot!
Ok, so how do we fix our problem? There are a few methods. First is to get a set of reusable bags that fit on your key chain. You can find examples here. Another idea that I use and find pretty simple to maintain, is just keeping all my reusable bags in the trunk of my car. That way I always remember them when it’s time to shop! If you have another way to remember your reusable shopping bags, I’d love to hear it.
