In the recent years there has been a change in Canada so that we now have a negative savings rate and a debt load per person higher than ever before. This means that we are spending more than we make and taking on more and more debt.
I know you can say that we are all stretched thin due to high housing costs, especially in Langley and the rest of the Fraser Valley BC, and increased costs of living through things we need on a regular basis (like gas recently) but those things shouldn’t affect your whole life.
Of the many methods to curb spending my personal favourite is stop your impulsive buying!
As you have likely heard before… use Mint.com for your budgeting needs! It will be an eye opening exercise.
