It occurred to me a while ago that people fall into three different categories when it comes to cash flow management.

In my experience there are 3 areas that people fall into.

  1. There are the people who are struggling or underwater.  These people are living paycheck to paycheck, or maybe even worse… they are spending more than they earn.  For these people there is little hope other than cutting costs to a manageable level (which is easier said than done).
  2. The second set of people are savers.  These people live within their means and save each and every month.  When it comes to financial planning, this is where a Certified Financial Planner starts to shine.  We can show them how to get their money working harder and transition them into category three.
  3. The Wealthy!  This is where most people dream of getting to.  These people live within their means, and have their money working hard for them and seem to have it all together.  They are fully protected no matter what happens in their lives and ensure that their families will be taken care of no matter what.  For these people we can help tweak their savings, investments and businesses to ensure they pay less in tax and keep more of their hard earned money in their jeans – not the Governments.

I recently came across a website (http://www.moolanomy.com/636/financial-health-the-5-stages/) that broke my 3 stages into 5.  It’s very interesting to look at it and analyze where you are at in your financial life.  Be honest, where do you fall in?  Can you improve your position with a few of their tips?

If you fall into 3-5 (on the Moolanomy scale) give me a call.  As a Certified Financial Planner I can give you a no obligation second opinion to ensure you are paying the least amount of tax possible and having your money work hard for you!  If we discover you are all setup, I’ll let you know that as well.
